The best face search engines, compared honestly.
Some tools find copies of a picture. Others find the same face in different photos. Here is what each one is good at, what it costs and when to use it.
Four questions that decide the right tool
Prices and coverage matter less than whether the tool answers your question.
Copies or the same face?
Google Lens and TinEye mainly find copies. Face engines find other photos of the same face.
Can you see the source?
A result is only useful if you can open the page it came from.
One-off or ongoing?
For a single check, pay per search. For constant monitoring of your own face, a subscription can make sense.
What happens to your photo?
Read whether uploads are stored, for how long and how removal works.
A simple way to use them together
Sign in with an email code when you run your first search. No forms, no monthly plan.
Try a free copy search
If you only need to know whether a picture was copied, Google Lens or TinEye may be enough.
Use a face search for people
To find other photos of the same face, use a face engine such as Facehunch.
Verify on the source page
Whatever the tool, open the page and check the name, date and context.
Where Facehunch fits
Facehunch is built for one-off checks on people you are already dealing with.
Pay per search
$9 for one, no subscription. Ideal when you need one answer, not a plan.
Every source shown
No blurred results and no extra unlock to see where a match came from.
Help reading results
Name-aware ranking, saved reports and a research assistant that cites its sources.
Results show public web pages only. A match is a lead to check, not proof of identity.

How we compared them
We looked at what each tool is designed to find, whether results include the source page, the pricing model and the stated handling of uploaded photos, using each provider’s public pages on 24 October 2026. We did not run benchmark tests, and no provider indexes the whole web, so coverage differs between them.
PimEyes is the best-known face engine and has strong monitoring features for people tracking their own face; the trade-off is subscription pricing, with source links reserved for paid plans. FaceCheck.ID runs the index that Facehunch searches; buying direct suits people comfortable with its credit system. Google Lens, Bing Visual Search and TinEye are free and excellent for finding copies of one image, but are not built to find different photos of the same face.
Facehunch is for people who need one clear answer about one person, with every source visible and no recurring bill. Read FaceCheck vs PimEyes and how accurate face search is for more.

Questions people ask
What is the most accurate face search engine?
There is no independent benchmark covering all of them, and accuracy depends heavily on photo quality and on whether the person is in that engine’s index. Treat every match as a lead and check the source page.
Is there a free face search engine?
Google Lens, Bing Visual Search and TinEye are free, but they mainly find copies of an image. Engines that compare faces generally charge, because each search runs against a large face index.
Does Google have a face search?
Google Lens can sometimes surface pages with the same person, but Google deliberately limits face matching for privacy. Read our guide to Google face search.
Which is best for checking a dating match?
A face search with source links, so you can see if the photos appear under another name. Facehunch costs $9 for one search with no subscription.
