Start in the main workspace
Open /app, sign in and choose a photo you have permission to use. The main workspace uses a prepaid search credit to send a consented search to FaceCheck. It is separate from the fictional example workspace and its restricted API test. Provider configuration, access and rate limits can affect availability.
Prepare a supported image
Use a JPG, PNG or WebP under 10 MB. Check the preview and consent statement before starting. Selecting a file is not the same as submitting a search. Keep unrelated private information out of the picture.
Review source pages
Wait for the provider status, then inspect the returned sources. Similarity scores are not verified identities. A result may be wrong, and an empty result does not establish that a photo or account is genuine. Saved reports can be reopened from your account.
Understand the example
The example report uses fictional portraits and sources to illustrate the interface. Its API test uses FaceCheck’s restricted test index. Do not treat those examples as real search evidence or as a benchmark of coverage.
Handle a failed request
Check the format and size when an upload fails. If a rate limit or provider error appears, preserve the message and wait before retrying. Avoid starting duplicate searches while one is pending. A completed search with no result is a different condition from a failed upload.
Input cleanup and saved reports
Facehunch requests provider input removal after completion or cancellation. A cleanup failure is not confirmed deletion. Returned source metadata and thumbnails are saved with the account report; removing an input does not remove source pages from the web.
