THE DETAILS

Trace terms of use

Trace is currently an experimental photo-search workspace.

Available service

Trace offers a fictional sample and a limited FaceCheck API test. Paid searches are disabled. Features and availability can change. The current service does not provide formal identity verification, background screening or guaranteed search coverage.

Images you submit

Use an image of yourself or an image you are authorised to submit for this purpose. Review the consent statement and provider policies before starting. Do not upload intimate content, private documents or unrelated sensitive information as a search experiment.

Appropriate use

Do not use the service to harass someone, expose private information, bypass access controls or make unsupported allegations. Do not use similarity results to make employment, housing, credit or other eligibility decisions. Respect source websites and the rights associated with their content.

Results and uncertainty

The fictional sample is illustrative. API testing results come from a restricted index and are not meaningful identity evidence. Scores are not verified identities. Empty results do not establish that an account or interaction is safe.

External services

FaceCheck processes consented API uploads, and source links open independent websites. Their policies and availability apply to those interactions. Trace requests input cleanup but cannot guarantee that every upstream request succeeds or that source images are removed.

Payments and changes

Trace currently takes no payment for searches through this interface. No paid plan, renewal or refund entitlement is represented here. Any future paid service needs its own clear terms before purchase. Read the privacy notice and help centre before using the API test.
