Is Trace running real paid searches?
No. The sample is fictional. The API option contacts FaceCheck in its restricted testing mode, with paid search disabled. It tests the workflow; it does not provide meaningful full-index results.
Do I need credits for the API test?
FaceCheck documents test mode as not deducting search credits. Trace keeps that mode enabled server-side. Provider availability, account validity and rate limits can still affect a request.
Does a high score prove identity?
No. A similarity score is the provider’s comparison, not a verified name or probability of identity. A close resemblance can still be wrong.
Can Trace search private profiles?
No. Trace does not unlock private accounts, messages or hidden posts. Search indexes have coverage gaps even for public content.
Does an empty result mean a profile is safe?
No. A photograph can be missing from an index for many reasons. Evaluate the interaction and the actual request being made, especially pressure to send money or credentials.
Are my uploads saved?
Trace does not persist API uploads or results in an application database. It sends consented uploads to FaceCheck and requests input removal after completion or cancellation. The provider’s own retention rules still apply, and cleanup can fail. Read the privacy notice.
Does input removal erase pictures from the web?
No. Removing the search input is different from removing an indexed image or a source page. See the removal guide.

Open /app. The saved-results dashboard is at /app/dashboard. Public educational guides live at /blog.
