Begin with a specific purpose
Reconnecting with an old friend, reviewing your own public footprint and checking a claim require different evidence. Define the question first. Avoid collecting unrelated personal details just because a search makes them available.
For reconnection, a shared school, organisation or mutual acquaintance may provide more useful context than a face match. Ask someone to pass along your message rather than disclose private contact details.
Names and usernames are imperfect clues
People share names, change usernames and abandon accounts. A familiar handle on another platform may belong to someone else. Profile images can be copied. Treat these as leads and look for direct, relevant confirmation before drawing a conclusion.
Do not combine a similar name, a similar portrait and an unrelated record into a supposed identity. Each connection needs its own evidence.
Respect a person’s choice not to engage
Use an appropriate public contact route and send a brief message explaining the shared context. If there is no reply, do not escalate to private addresses, relatives or repeated contact across platforms. Silence does not create permission to investigate further.
Know the limits of this product
Facehunch is not a public-records database, private-account access service or source of personal addresses. Its main workspace uses FaceCheck for consented, prepaid face searches. The separate sample report is fictional and its API test uses a restricted index. A result does not verify a person’s name, history or account ownership.
