Search Facebook with a photo.
Facebook has no search-by-face feature. Facehunch searches public web pages for the same face, including public Facebook pages and posts that are indexed, and links you to each one.
When a name is not enough
Common names return hundreds of profiles. A face narrows it down, and catches profiles that use someone else’s picture.
A friend request from a stranger
Check whether the profile photo belongs to a real person with a different name.
A Marketplace seller
See whether the face behind the listing appears on other pages, or on scam warnings.
A cloned account
Someone copied a friend’s profile and photos. Find the clone and report it.
Your own photos
Find public pages and groups that have posted your pictures without asking.
From one photo to every source page.
Sign in with an email code when you run your first search. No forms, no monthly plan.
Save the profile photo
Open the photo full size and screenshot it. Crop to one face.
Search the face
Facehunch compares it with faces on public web pages, not just copies of the same file.
Open each source
Results show the page URL. Facebook results only appear when that content is public.
What you can and can’t find
Being honest about coverage saves you money. Here is what to expect.
Public profiles and pages
Profile pictures, public posts and pages that search engines can reach.
The same face elsewhere
Instagram, news sites, company pages and blogs. Often more useful than Facebook itself.
Not private content
Friends-only posts, private groups and Messenger photos never appear. No tool can legitimately reach them.
Results show public web pages only. A match is a lead to check, not proof of identity.
How to find a Facebook profile by picture
Facebook removed its public face-recognition features in 2021, and its own search works by name, not by face. A face search engine works from the other direction: it finds pages across the web where a face appears, and some of those pages are public Facebook profiles, pages or posts.
Because only public content is indexed, the most useful result is often not on Facebook at all. A team page, a public Instagram or a news photo with the same face can give you the name, and from there you can search Facebook normally.
If you are checking an account that is using your photos, collect the links and report it through Facebook’s impersonation form. Our Facebook photo search guide walks through the options.
