Check a dating profile before you share more.
Bumble, Hinge, Match, Facebook Dating or a site you met on: upload a profile photo and see every public page where that face appears, with a link to each one.
Fake profiles are built from real people’s photos
Scammers copy pictures from real social accounts. A face search finds the real owner.
Too good to be true
Model looks, a glamorous job and endless free time, yet no mutual friends or verifiable details.
Moving off the app
Pressure to switch to WhatsApp, Telegram or email within the first few messages.
Overseas and unavailable
Working on an oil rig, deployed with the military or stuck abroad, so meeting is always impossible.
Money comes up
Customs fees, a medical bill, a crypto opportunity. Any request for money is a reason to stop and check.
From one photo to every source page.
Sign in with an email code when you run your first search. No forms, no monthly plan.
Save one clear photo
A screenshot is fine. Crop it to one face and avoid heavily filtered pictures.
Search the face
Add the name they gave you if you have it. Pages that mention that name are ranked higher.
Read the sources
Open each page. Compare the name, age and location with what the profile told you.
What you can learn from one photo
Facehunch returns pages from the public web, ranked by face similarity, each with its link.
The real owner of the photos
A public Instagram, TikTok or blog where the same face appears under the owner’s real name.
Reports from other victims
Scam-warning sites and forums that have already posted the same pictures.
A consistent identity
If the name, job and face line up on independent pages, you have a reason to feel more confident.
Results show public web pages only. A match is a lead to check, not proof of identity.
A dating-profile check you can trust
Most fake dating profiles reuse photos of a real person found on social media. That is good news for you: real people leave a trail of public photos, and a face search can find them even when the scammer has cropped, mirrored or filtered the image.
Search the clearest photo first, then a second one if the first returns nothing. Treat a high similarity score as a lead, not a verdict, because lookalikes exist. What matters is the context on the source page: a different name, a different country, or a page warning about scams.
- If the face appears under another name, do not send money or explicit photos, and report the profile to the dating app.
- If nothing comes back, ask for a short video call before you meet. An empty result is not proof the profile is genuine.
- If the pages match what you were told, still meet in a public place and tell a friend where you are going.

Questions people ask
Can Facehunch search inside Tinder, Bumble or Hinge?
No. Dating-app profiles are not public web pages, so no face search engine can look inside them. Facehunch checks whether the photos your match uses appear elsewhere on the public web: stock sites, other social profiles, news stories or scam-report pages.
Will my match know I searched?
No. Facehunch never contacts the person in the photo and nothing is posted anywhere. Your report is private to your account.
What if nothing comes back?
An empty result means this search found no public pages with that face. It does not prove the profile is genuine, because new or private photos are often not indexed. Use the other checks on this page as well, such as a short video call.
How much does it cost?
$9 for one search, $29 for five or $49 for ten. No subscription and no auto-renewal. One credit runs one search, including searches with no matches.
