An image search can surface copies and related pictures in its index. A platform's verification process follows that platform's own criteria. Read its current explanation to understand what was checked rather than inferring employment, relationship status or trustworthiness from a badge.
Review a concern carefully
- Identify the exact inconsistency that worries you.
- Check public source context for any permitted image search.
- Use the platform's reporting tools for a specific violation.
- Keep personal and financial decisions independent of a photo result.
For example, a verified account may still use an old photograph. A copied photograph may also be an authorised publicity image. The surrounding context determines what either observation means.
Avoid overclaiming
