Prepare the handoff
State what you were trying to establish and what you actually found. Include the search date and any account or test-mode restriction that affected results.
Use a short packet
- Original image or a permitted reference to it.
- Candidate source URLs with factual notes.
- Transformations used, such as crop or rotation.
- Open questions and a suggested next check.
For example, “same image located; creator credit still unresolved” tells the reviewer not to repeat the image-matching stage. “Probably fake” does not explain what remains to investigate.
Share only the necessary material
Remove unrelated personal details from the shared packet and retain sensitive originals securely. Do not pass along private access tokens embedded in URLs. A good handoff makes the uncertainty easier to inspect and avoids turning a limited source question into broader collection of personal information.
Continue with finding an original image source.
