Define the alleged issue
Is the concern reused event footage, a misleading caption or someone using another member's photograph? Each needs different evidence. Keep the original report and the visible post context together.
Make a reviewable decision
- Search only material appropriate to the report.
- Record relevant source pages and dates.
- Compare the evidence with the community rule.
- Explain the decision without publishing unrelated personal information.
A reposted photograph may be allowed when credited but misleading when presented as a member's own recent experience. The rule and caption determine the moderation issue.
Keep uncertainty visible
If a match is only a lookalike or an inaccessible preview, do not describe it as confirmed impersonation. Use the platform's established appeal and escalation process. A concise evidence note helps consistency across moderators more than an unexplained confidence score.
