Check what the URL points to
A page URL, expiring download link and direct image URL are different inputs. Some links require cookies or login; others expire after a short period. Do not remove access controls to satisfy a search tool.
Test safely
- Confirm that the service supports URL input.
- Read whether it expects a page or an image address.
- Download an authorised copy through the source's normal controls.
- Upload that copy if the format and terms permit it.
An image in your private cloud album can work in your own browser while remaining inaccessible to the search provider. That is expected access behaviour, not evidence that the photograph is corrupt.
Avoid leaking credentials
Do not paste URLs containing private access tokens into public notes or unrelated tools. A file upload sends the selected image; a sharing link can sometimes expose more. Choose the minimum input necessary and keep the source page in your private research notes separately.
