Compare like with like
For a copied photograph, investigate TinEye and general visual search. For object discovery, Lens is a relevant option. For a self-likeness audit, review specialist providers' current terms and source-access features. These are candidates to assess, not a measured ranking.
Make a small trial meaningful
- Pick a permissioned image with a known public source.
- Record the exact question and expected output.
- Inspect the linked pages rather than thumbnail counts.
- Check deletion and billing before expanding the trial.
A service finding twenty similar chairs has not necessarily failed an object-discovery task. It has failed to answer an exact-photograph question if none of those pages contains the photograph.
Preserve the distinction in your notes
Record category, account tier and date alongside results. Availability can vary by service and location. Do not use an unrelated category's success story as evidence for your own task, and do not compare Facehunch's provider demo results with a full commercial index without clearly stating the difference.
