Inspect the whole frame
Look beyond the main subject for delivery labels, badges, documents, notifications and other people's faces. A photograph that feels ordinary may include details you did not intend to send to another service.
Edit with a clear purpose
- Crop unrelated borders and interface elements.
- Remove unnecessary metadata using your device's export controls.
- Avoid generated repairs or invented background detail.
- Open the exact upload copy before submitting it.
If you are tracing a product photo, a visible home address on an adjacent envelope is irrelevant. If removing private information destroys the only useful clue, reconsider whether uploading is appropriate at all.
Keep the search proportionate
Cropping does not guarantee anonymity, and visible content can still reveal context. Read the provider's retention terms and use only images you are entitled to process. A more limited question may be answerable through a caption, a known publisher or direct communication without sending the file.
